I.O.D line of duty

IOD DEFINED

Injury in the line of duty is defined as a trauma -or occupational disease arising out of and in the course of employment for the City of Jacksonville
All JSO employees are considered "on duty" -and are covered by Workers' Compensation while engaged in their primary duty
JSO employees who are Law Enforcement Officers, as defined below, are considered "on duty" -and covered by Worker's Compensation while engaged in their primary duty of enforcing the criminal, traffic or penal laws of Florida
in their primary -or authorized secondary employment
Law Enforcement Officers are also covered by Worker's Compensation while coming from -or going to work or authorized secondary employment in an official law enforcement vehicle
except for a distinct deviation -for a nonessential personal errand
