Digestive System Processes food and eliminates food waste. Mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, liver, intestines, gallbladder, pancreas, rectum
Cardio-Vascular System Transport oxygen and nutrients and removes carbon dioxide and cell waste. Heart and Blood Vessels( Arteries and Veins)
Respiratory System Exchanges gases between air and blood. 2 Lungs, upper and lower airways, alveoli, thoracic cage, diaphragm
Excretory System Eliminates metabolic waste, toxins, and excessive water from the body/ Regulates blood pressure Kidney, liver, skin and lungs
Skeletal System Provide body support and protection/store minerals/ produce blood cells Bones, ligaments and cartilages.Skeleton can be Axial and Appendicular
Muscular System Provide movements to the body/ Produce heat/Controls movements within the body Consists of muscles/they can be Voluntary(Skeletal) and Involuntary(Smooth and Cardiac
Nervous System Regulates the environment and direct the activities of other body systems Central nervous system(Brain & spinal cord) Peripheral nervous system Sensory organs(eyes, nose, tongue and ears)
Integumentary System Protect body from infections/Regulate body temperature/Cover the body/Provide sensations/Stores fat/Makes vitamin D Skin, hair, nails, sweat glands and sebaceous glands Skin layers: Epidermis, Dermis, Hypodermis
Endocrine System Coordinates body activities through hormones(metabolic function, growth, reproductions, immunity, inflammation) Consist of group of glands: Hypothalamus, Pineal gland, Pituitary g., Adrenal g., Thyroid g., Pancreas and Gonads.
Reproductive Provides human reproduction Consist of: Female Reproductive organs(ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina mammary glands)and Male Reproductive organs(Testes, penis, epididymis, accessory glands
Urinary System Filters the blood and removes liquid waste. Kidney, ureter, bladder, urethra
Circulatory System Transport oxygen, carbon-dioxide and nutrients/Fight infection(WBC)/Remove excess fluid and cell waste Consist of Blood and Lymph that move through the body
Sensory System Perceives the environment and sends messages to and from the brain. Eyes, Ears, tongue, nose skin and sensory nerves.
Lymphatic Systems Protect from infection/Transport system for the immune system Lymph, Lymphatic vessels, Lymphatic organs(Lymph nodes, Tonsils, Spleen, Thymus)
Immune System Protect from infection Consist of chemicals, cells(WBC)and barriers that protect the body from infection
