adhesion abnormal joining of tissues by fibrous scar tissue
biopsy removal and microscopic examination of body tissue
carcinoma malignant growth derived from epithelial cells
histology branch of microscopic anatomy that studies tissues
lipoma benign tumor derived from fat cells
Marfan Syndrome congenital disorder of connective tissue characterized by abnormal length in the extremities and cardiovascular abnormalities
Myoma benign tumor formed of muscle tissue
Papilloma benign epithelial tumor; may occur on any epithelial surface or lining
Pathology branch of medicine that studies the essential nature of disease, especially the structural and functional changes in tissues
Sarcoma malignant growth derived from connective tissue cells
Scurvy condition caused by a deficiency of vitamin C in the diet, which results in abnormal collagen synthesis
Systemic lupus erythematosus chronic autoimmune connective tissue disease that is characterized by injury to the skin, joints, kidneys, nervous system, and mucous membranes but can affect any organ of the body
