Casualty Program

What is the first main objective of the Casualty Program? (1-1) To closely track all casualty reports and notfications in accordance with procedures set by AFPC, Directorate of Airman & Family Care
What is the second main objective of the Casualty Program? (1-1) To report casualities, ensure timely notification of NOK, & provide compassionate assistance to NOK until all claims & personal affairs are settled
What is the third main objective of the Casualty Program? (1-1) To eliminate delays in providing benefits to the NOK.
What is a casualty status applicable to a person who is either known to have died, determined to have died based on conclusive evidence, or declared dead based on a presumptive finding of death? (1-2) Deceased
What is the transitory casualty status applied to military personnel only. (1-2) Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown (DUSTWUN)
What is one responsibility of the AFPC Casualty Services Branch (AFPC/DPFC)? (1-3) Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for SGLI and the virtual record of emergency data (vRED) also known as the DD Form 93
What is one way that the Installation Commander implements the installation's Casualty Services Program? (1-3) Informing the NOK of all known circumstances surrounding the service member's death.
The Casualty Notification Team consists of? (1-4) -Field grade officers, of equal or higher grade than the emeber about whom they are making notification -Medical personnel -Air Force Chaplain
What are some casualty benefits that could be breifed to the NOK by the CAR? (1-5/6) -Death Gratuity -Survivor's Benefit Plan (SBP) -Unpaid Pay and Allowances -Service Members Group LIfe Insurance (SGLI)

Reports used to expedite the flow of casualty info to AF Casualty Services when mulitple casualties are involved and submitting normal casualty reports would delay notifying the NOK? (1-8) Hasty Casualty Reports
Once the installation commander or HQ AFPC/DPFCS selects an individual for casualty notification duty, what should they learn? (1-8) They should learn as much as they can about the casualty, the NOK, and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
What does the instalation CAR or HQ AFPC/DPFCS provide during the Pre-Notification Phase? (1-8) Instructions if problems occur
As a minimum, the notification officer should do what during the notification process? (1-9) After identifying yourself, make sure you are speaking to the correct person(s) by confirming the identity of the NOK
What is the purpose of case files? (1-10) expeditious reporting, dignified and humane notifcations, and efficient adn thorough assistance to the next of kin of all casualties.
What items are contained in a case file? (1-11) -AF Form 348, Line of Duty Determination -DoD Form 93, Record of Emergency Data -DoD Form 1300, Report of Casualty
What are the responsibilities of the FSS Commander concerning mass casualy? (1-12) Appoints, in writing, the Casualty Augmentation Support Team (CAST) members. The CAST is a group of individuals trained in casualty reporting, notification, and assistance procedures that helps the CAR and other Casualty Services personnel.
What are the responsibilities of the CAR concerning mass casualty? (1-12) -Trains all casualty services personnel at serviced GSUs, PERSCO & CAST members using AFI 36-3002, the installation supp instructions, the installation Mass Disaster/Mass Casualty Plan, & sample messages & letters for reporting casualties & notifying NOK
