Executive Branch

Chapter 5 Executive Branch

Staff a group of people that advise or help
Advisor A person who gives information, advice, or help
Agency A division within the executive branch that serves a special purpose
Organization A group that carries out certain activities
Qualification A skill or quality a person must have to fill a job or position
Campaign To work on activities connected to getting elected to a political office
Polling Place A place where people vote
Electoral college A group of people chosen by political parties to vote for the president and vice president
Popular Vote The votes by citizens in a presidential election
Diplomat A person whose work is to manage relations between nations
Legislator A person who makes or passes laws
Budget A plan for how money will be taken in and spent
Vacant Not filled, empty
Cabinet A group of advisors to the head of state
Appropriations Bill A bill that gives government agencies money to operate
Economy The system of handling money and business in a country
Environment Having to do with the climate, soil, and preservation of natural resources
Natural Resources Raw materials from nature such as water and soil
Labor Human activity that provides goods or services; work
