Scientific Method

TermDefinition
Bias A slanted view or 1 sided.
Conclusion The close or last part; the end or finish.
Constant Variable that says the same during an experiment.
Control Sample that is treated like other experimental groups except that the independent variable is not applied.
Data Information organized used to make reason or decisions.
Dependent Variable Factor that is being measured during an experiment.
Evidence Thing or things helpful in forming a conclusion; proof.
Experiment Research designed answers scientific questions by observation of a controlled situation.
Hypothesis Prediction or statement that can be tested and may be formed by prior knowledge, any previous observations, and new information.
Independent Variable Variable that can be changed during an experiment.
Inference The act of reasoning from evidence.
Model Represents something that is too big, too small, too dangerous, too time consuming, or too expensive to observe directly.
Observation Watching something closely an dcarefully.
Scientific Method Ways to solve problems that can include step-by-step plans, making models, and carefully thought-out experiments.
