State and local government

TermDefinition
The Seven Deadly Sins These consist of the 7 things you can do that get you put in jail for up to a life sentence. (Murder, Rape, armed robbery, aggervated child molestation, aggervated sexual battery,voluntary manslaughter)
Checks && Balances In the three branches of goverment they have these to make sure no one section of government has more power then any other.
Georgia State Constituion This makes sure that everyone has their rights and that no one person can do anything to harm people or make it so they are treated any differnt from anyone else.
Georgia Bill of Rights This states the rights that all citiens of the usa have and what they can and connot do.
Sovereity Power and authority rests with the citizens.
Judicial,Executive, Legislative These are known as the branches of government in which the government is split up into to keep no one part from having more power then any other part.
Naturalization When a person from another country can become a citizen of the country which they do not reside in.
Democratic && Republican Two main political parties of Georgia
Federalism national, state, and local government share the same people and the same land.
Every 10 years Census determines the population and draws district lines.
Term The leangth of time someone can be in office (President has a 4 year...)
General Assembly Get together on the 2nd monday of January and are together for 40 days.
Senate and House of Rep. Part of the general assembly. One consist of 180 members, the other has 56.
Political Parties These are select groups of individuals who are sent out to get money and try to consume someones vote. They are trying to get people to vote for whoever it is they are representing.
Lutenent Governer This is the leader of the house of rerpresentives. They also play the role as someone who is someone like the vicve governer of the state. Whenever the governer cannot be there they call in this person to take his place...
regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) If a kid commits a crime and they are still underage and or not old enough to be tried as an adukt or the crime is not serious enough they will go here. This is also known as juvy.
