Evaluate You may have to substitute (When in the given variables and then use "Aunt Sally")
Simplify Combine like terms (Your answer most likely will have a variable in it where but not necessarily)
Distributive a(b+c)= ab+ac
Commutative a+b=b=a a*b=b*a
Associative (a+b)+c= a+(b+c)
Identity a+0=a OR 0+a=a 1*a=a OR a*1=a
Inverse a+(-a)=0
