Selective Seretonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI): Effects? Prevents seretonin from being reabsorbed which increases potential of Seretonin to transmit properly.
Selective Seretonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI): Hints Usually ends in "-oxetine" or "-alopram". Exceptions are: Seretaline (Zoloft) which id SSRI and Duoxetine (Cymbalta) which is SNRI.
Selective Norepinepherine Reuptake Inhibitor (SNRI): Use Depression, anxiety
Selective Norepinepherine Reuptake Inhibitor (SNRI): Effects? Prevents norepinepherine from being reabsorbed which increases potential of Norepinepherine to transmit properly.
Selective Norepinepherine Reuptake Inhibitor (SNRI): Hints usually ends in "-faxine"; exception is duloxetine (Cymbalta) which is SNRI.
Trycyclic Antidepressants: Use Depression, anxiety
Trycyclic Antidepressants: Effects? Prevents Serotonin and Norepinephrine from being reabsorbed which increases potential of both to transmit properly.
Trycyclic Antidepressants Hints Several end in "-triptyline" or -pramine"; exceptions are Amoxapine, Doxapin and Maltrotiline which are all TCAs.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOI): Use Depression, anxiety
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOI): Effects Prevents Monoamine oxidase from breaking down groups of neurotransmitters once they have have transmitted which increase their availability.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOI): Hints some end in "-zid" or "-lid"; numerous exceptions to this.
Antipsychotic Medications: Use Schizophrenia,and other major behavioral disorders
Antipsychotic Medications: Effects Effects different modalities of neurotransmitter release and transmission
Antipsychotic Medications: Hints Several end in "-done" but there are numerous exceptions
Anti-anxiety: Use Anxiety
Anti-anxiety: Effects Bind to neurons that produce anxiety effects
Anti-anxiety: Hints Usually end in "-azepam"
Beta-blockers: Use Anxiety

Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOI): Strict Dietary Restrictions certain substances in fermented or aged foods
Anti-Depressants General Knowledge Usually used in combination with cognitive behavioral therapy. Can also be used for anxiety and pain, especially nerve pain.
