What is the order of the presidential election process? Primary election, National Convention, General Election, Electoral Vote, and Inaguration
What is a Primary Election? Presidential candidates are chosen for the general election
What is a National Convention? A convention for delegates of from each state
What is a General Election? Citizens vote for president and vice president
What is an Electoral Vote? Representatives of the Electoral College formally vote for president and vice president
What is an Inauguration? The winning candidates take there oaths to become president and vice-president of the U.S.
What is the federal law making process? Introduction of a bill, a committee act on the bill, Congress acts on the bill, passage of the bill
What are the state courts? Small-Claims, Juvenile, Divorce, Traffic, Criminal, and Civil courts
What does a small-claims court handle? Handles cases involving small sums of money ( usually under $500)
What does a juvenile court handle? Handles cases involving people under 18 years of age
What does a divorce court handle? Handles cases involving people who are getting a divorce
What does a traffic court handle? Handles cases involving traffic tickets and other traffic cases
What does a civil court handle? cases involving disputes between citizens
What are the three branches of government? Judicial, Legislative, and Executive Branch
What is the job of the Judicial Branch? To interpret and administer justice
What is the job of the Legislative Branch? To make laws
What is the job of the Executive Branch? To enforce laws
