Pancreatic islets? Pancreas composed of both endocrine and exocrine tissue.
What produces important hormones? Pancreatic islets.
What are the most important hormones produced by Pancreatic islets? insulin and glucagon are antagonistic hormones to control glucose concentration in the blood.
What can have general effects in the body? Somatostatin
What does Somatostatin primarily do? regulate the secretion of other pancreatic hormones.
What is insulin? promotes movement of glucose out of the blood and into cells.
What promotes movement of glucose from storage and into the blood? glucagon.
