Bill of Rights The first 10 amendments in the constitution , which states the rights of people.
Federalism A system of government where power is divided by political units and a main authority.
Confederacy An alliance of confederate states.
Articles of Confederation The first constitution of the U.S, ratified in 1781 and replaced by the U.S constitution.
Monarchy A type of government ruled by a king or queen
Separation of Powers A principle of government that separates the judicial, legislative, and executive branches.
Unitarianism The belief that freedom is beneficial.
Checks and Balances The system in which each branch holds the same power so one branch doesn't become to powerful.
Judicial People who are in the court and work with justice.
Legislative People who have the power to make the laws or make revisions to them.
Executive A person with a major responsibility in the business world/organization.
Supreme Court They are the highest judicial/federal court in the U.S., they have nine justices, and they overrule all of the courts in the nation.
House of Representatives The lower house of US congress .
Amendments A change or add on to a state document.
Senate An assembly of citizens who govern.
Founders Person who builds a settlement.
Framers Delegates to the Philadelphia Convention which was held in 1787 and those who wrote the Bill of Rights.
Democrat People who believe in that they should be able to pursue any goals they have, and for their civil rights.
Republican People who support republican viewpoint, believe change is unnecessary.
Constitution A body of principles according to which a state or organization is to be governed.
Electoral College A body of people who cast votes to decide the next president.
Media Bias journalists and news producers in the media in selection of events or stories.
Obama 44th president of the U.S . First black president, democrat.
Biden Is the democrat vice president for Obama. He is the 47th vice president.
Ryan He ran for republican vice president in 2012 but lost to Biden and Obama
State Issues Issues that the state makes, or anything that is provided by the states.
Third Parties A political party that is an alternative to the two other major parties.
