Socialization is the process of learning how to be a member of a group.
People Form groups to? Satisfy Everyday needs
Rules are specific expectations about what our behavior should be.
The five social institutions that help organize society are? the family, religion, education, the economy, and government.
How has the structure of the American family changed? It has changed over the past century to include single-parent and blended families.
What is the purpose of religion? Religion teaches values and provides people with a sense of community.
Education provides? training for future employment and also brings children into contact with others of different backgrounds.
In an economy consumers do what? exchange goods and services in a market where everything has a price.
What is bartering and money? they are two ways people use to pay one another for their goods and services.
What are the five economic freedoms? to buy and sell, to compete, to make a profit, to own property, and to choose one’s occupation.
The American economy gives people what? the freedom to achieve their dreams, although it does not guarantee that everyone will be equally successful at doing so.
The role of government is to? provide for law and order, security, public services, and to maintain other institutions such as schools.
The most common forms of government today are? monarchy, dictatorship, and democracy.
