Political Party an organization of people who share similar ideas on issues
nominate to select a candidate
candidate a person seeking an office
campaign an organized effort to persuade voters to vote for a particular candidate
party platform a statement of a party's beliefs on issues
third parties minor political parties/any party other than democrat or republican
two-party system having two strong political parties
primary election an election in which voters of various parties choose a candidate
general election an election in which voters choose their leaders
polling place a place where you go to vote
secret ballot the method in which a person marks a ballot in secret
popular vote the vote cast by citizens in a presidential election
electorate eligible voters - people who have the right to vote in an election
