U.S gov. test study

Purposes of Government Strength, Justice, Keeping peace at home, Promote general welfare, Defense of the people, and Secure liberty.
1st amendment freedom of speech , press , religion, assembly, and petition.
2nd amendment Right to bear arms.
3rd amendment No soldier can be forced to stay at your home during time of peace.
4th amendment No search and seizure without warrant.
5th amendment Gov. must respect all rights , cant be tried for same crime twice.
6th amendment Speedy public trail, Jury of press, Right to counsel.
7th amendment Double jeopardy, right to be tried by a jury.
8th amendment No excessive bail or cruel and unusual punishments.
9th amendment These are not the only rights given to us.
10th amendment All powers not stated in consitution are given to states.
18th amendment Prohibition of alcohol
21st amendment repeal of prohibition
13th amendment abolition of slavery
19th amendment Women suffreage
15th amendment no denial of vote due to race , color, or previous enslavement.
1st amendment process Proposed by 2/3 vote in both houses of congress and ratified by 3/4 state conventions.
2nd amendment process Proposed by congress and ratified by 3/4 state conventions.
3rd amendment process Proposed by National convention called by congress at request or 2/3 state legislaters.
4th amendment process Proposed by national convention and ratified in 3/4 state conventions.
Dictatorship Ultimate power is held by a single person or group of people who are not responsible to the will of the people.
Presidential democracy executive and legislavtive branch are separate independent and equal.
Parliamentary democracy Executive is made up of prime ministry who are also members of the legilative branch (parliament)
Communism State ownership of land and all other productive property and benefits should be fairly distributed.
U.S Economic system Mixed gov. dosent make decisons only regulates.
Articles of confederation were? the first gov. system
Strengths of articles army , make treaties, borrow money
Weaknesses of articles no power to make states obey , no taxing, could not regulate trade

Royal gov. King became gov. council serves as advisory - virginia
Proprietary gov. King gave proprietor power of land and gov. - Delaware
Charter gov. governers were elected by men and approved by king- roade island
Virginia plan Representation based on pop.
New Jersey plan Equal representation for all
