Civil law focuses on relationships between peoplw and the protection of a a person's rights
Criminal law focuses on wrongs against a person, property or society
Torts wrongful acts that do not involve contracts
Malpractice bad practice, professional negligence. Failure of a professional to use the expected level of skill
Negligence failure to give care that is normally expected
Assault the threat or attempt to harm
Battery unlawful touching of another person without cnsent
False Imprisonment restraining an individual or restricting an individual's freedom
Abuses Any care that results in physical harm, pain or mental anguish
