Structural Formula | Shows how atoms bond and are arranged. |
Hydrogen Bonds | Weak attraction between + end of a polar molecule and - end of another polar molecule. Formed between water molecules. |
Proteins | Structural materials, energy sources, chemical messangers and when combined with carbs, function as receptors. |
Enzymes | Speed chemical reactions without being consumed. |
Primary Protein | The amino acid sequence of the polypeptide chain. |
Secondary Protein | Pleated or twisted to form a coil. |
Tertiary Protein | Secondary shapes fold into a unique 3D structure. |
Quaternary | Two or more chains may be connected to form a singel protein molecule. |
