Apoptosis | Programmed cell death. The cell kills itself or marks itself to be killed due to various reasons such as disease. |
Interphase | This stage is when the cell is not dividing and goes through daily routines and regular activities. |
Three Stages of Interphase | G1 Phase, S Phase, and G2 Phase |
G1 Phase | The cell doubles of number of organelles and performs regular activities. |
S Phase (Synthesis Phase) | DNA replications occurs as the cell prepares for cell division. (The cell makes a copy of its DNA) |
G2 Phase | The cell makes proteins that will help during cell division. |
DNA Replication | DNA is copied and new strands of DNA are made. |
Transcription | This is the first step of protein synthesis. mRNA is produced and acts as a template for protein production. |
