Term | Definition |
Trunk | The trunk is the body's central part, consisting of the thorax and the abdomen. |
Skull and brain | The skull encloses the brain in a protective casing and forms the framework of the face. Only the lower jawbone (mandible) is movable; all the other bones are fused. |
Eye | The eye is held in a bony socket that gives it protection and allows the surrounding eye muscles to move the eyeball from side to side and up and down. |
Nose | The external structure of the nose is composed largely of cartilage. A small projection of nasal bone forms the bridge of the nose. |
