Mandible | lower jawbone |
Calcaneal | heel bone |
Cervical vertebrae | composes the cervical spine (neck.) provide support, stability, and structure for neck |
Thoracic vertebrae | compose the middle segment of the vertebral column |
Lumbar vertebrae | the five vertebrae between the lumbar and pelvis |
Sacrum | large, triangular bone at base of spine and at upper back part of pelvic part of cavity. inserted like a wedge between the two hip bones. |
Pelvis | lower part of trunk between the abdomen and thighs |
Femur | thigh bone. most proximal bone of the leg. only bone in the thigh. |
Patella | knee-cap |
Tibia | shin bone. connects with ankle and knee bones. larger and stronger of the two distal leg bones |
Fibula | calf bone. smaller of two distal leg bones |
Tarsals | bones of the foot, located between the between the lower end of the tibia and fibula |
Scapula | shoulder blade. connects the humerus with the clavicle |

Sternum | chest bone. long fat bony plate shaped like a necktie. connects to the rib bones via catrilage |
Frontal | bone located at front of the skull. |
Temporal | located at front and sides of skull. |
Occipital | bone located at back and lower part of skull |
Parietal | forms the sides and roof of the cranium |
Humerus | long bone in arm that runs from the shoulder to the elbow |
Radius | long bone in forearm. extends from lateral end of forearm to thumb side |
Ulna | long bone in forearm that is located on opposite side of forearm from thumb |
Carpals | wrist. made up of 8 bones. |
Digits | fingers and thumbs. one of the most distal parts of a limb. |
