estimated date of confinement (EDC) | expected date for delivery of the baby; normally 280 days or 40 weeks from last menstrual period (LMP) |
meconium staining | presence of meconium in amniotic fluid |
ruptured membranes | rupture of the amniotic sac, usually at onset of labor |
macrosomia | large-bodied baby commonly seen in diabetic pregnancies (macro = large; soma = body) |
polyhydramnios | excessive amniotic fluid |
