Keratinocytes | cell of epidermis- Produce keratin, the fibrous protein that helps give the epidermis its protective layer, develop in basale, undergo mitosis for growth, slough off time they reach corneum. tightly connected by desmosomes.

Melanocytes | cell of epidermis, synthesize the pigment melanin, found in basale,
accumulate granules -malanosome
protect apical surface of keratinocytes nucleus from UV damage

Dendritic Cells | ingest foreign substances and are key activators of immune system
