I: S- capsule/ articular disc of TMJ
A: Protraction and depression of mandible (open jaw)

Medial Pterygoid | O: Sphenoid bone, Palatine bone and pterygoid fossa.
I: Inner surface of mandibular ramus and angle of mandible.
A: Elevation of mandible (clench teeth). Lateral deviation of mandible. Protraction of mandible.
