Papillary (layer)   Interracial Fluid (I.F.), Collagen, elastin, vasculature (bloody). THE WAVY PART.

Why do we have finger prints   In the Papillary layer the papilla (nipple) is larger. Bumbs are dermal papillae. Collectively called friction ridges.

Why do fingers and toes wrinkle in water   Having to do with the nervous system. Helps you grab something better with the ridges.

Blister /blood blister   The papillary layer sends Interstical Fluid to protect the deeper layers. Blood blister means the papillary layer was hurt. The epidermis is not vascular.

Reticular layer, deeper, 80%   Collogene, not very vascular, filled with water, irregular connective tissue

Striae   Tears in the reticular layer, tear under your skin

Appendages of the skin   Sudoniferous glands , Sebaceous glands

Sudoniferous gladns   (sweat gland) Eccrine and Apocrine glands. Eccrine: water, salt, acid waste. On palm, soul, forehead. Apocine: sweat with protein and lipids. On arm pit, analgenital

sebaceious glands   oil glands only on hair. Secrete sebum. Bactericide (kills bacteria). Acne: sebum that blocks the duct. Open comedo - black head. Closed comedo - white head.
