narrative hook main problem or conflicts revealed
climax ponit of highest intrest; the turning point
conclusion resolution;ending
narrator "person" telling the story not necessarily the author.
tone narrator/author's attitude towards the story
point of view relationship between the narrator and the reader.
1st person narrator is part of the story
3rd limited the narrator tells the story from 1 characters view.
3rd omniscient all knowing narrator; not bound by time or place.
setting where a story takes place and time
mood atmosphere; the mood is usally determind by the setting.
theme the author's lesson or message
conflict a problem
internal conflict a conflict created when a charater must make a difficult decision.
external conflict a conflict caused by an outtside force
person vs. man conflict between 2 people - argument fight
person vs. fate person has a conflict facing his/her destiny
person vs. society 1 person in conflict aganist a group
person vs. nature a person in conflict with any force of nature
