| mood | atmosphere; the mood is usally determind by the setting. |

| internal conflict | a conflict created when a charater must make a difficult decision. |
| external conflict | a conflict caused by an outtside force |
| person vs. man | conflict between 2 people - argument fight |
| person vs. fate | person has a conflict facing his/her destiny |
| person vs. society | 1 person in conflict aganist a group |
| person vs. nature | a person in conflict with any force of nature |
