John Winthrop The man elected to govern the puritans in Boston. Led the single largest migration of its time from England to new England, his goal was to build a "city upon a hill"
Roger Williams The founder of Rhode Island he was one of people who branched away from religion and founded own colony
Anne Hutchison Woman who questioned women's role and lack of power in colonies so forms her own group again someone who branched away
Quakers settled in PA, branched off from Christianity, they were pacifists who strongly believed in equality of all. they were very close with the indians. Churches were called meating house because there was no leader or minister
