Island hopping The strategy used by US forces in the Pacific during WWII that involved taking strategic islands
Blitzkrieg Another term for the strategy used by the German forces during WWII, means "lightning war"
Two front war War in the Pacific and the war in Europe during WWII; WWII was fought on 2 different fronts
Appeasement Policy of giving into the demands of a nation in order to avoid war
Berlin airlift The US dropped supplies into West Berlin during the Cold War
