Who were some New Deal critics who though it did not go far enough? Huey Long (tax rich, give to poor) Father Coughlin (should help entire nation)
Some of the Second New Deal programs? Works Progress Administration (WPA) , National Industrial Relations Act (NIRA), Wagner Act
What was the Social Security Act? provided stability for old people, children, disables
What was the Congress of Industrial Unions (CIO) ? put workers into unions based on industry, not skill level + welcomed minorities
What happened to some of the New Deal programs when they were challenged in court? They were ruled unconstitutional and put out of effect.
What was of Roosevelt's Court-Packing Bill? What was the purpose? said Roosevelt could replace court justices if too old. Purpose = get more democrats in Supreme Court + keep New Deals programs
What were sit-down strikes? workers stay in the building so they can't be replaced by new workers
