Staining properties

QuestionAnswer
name the five steps to tissue preparation fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining
this process stops metabolism and enzymatic action, kills pathogens and hardens tissue fixation
this step in tissue preparation uses a ten percent formalin buffer solution fixation
embedding uses this to provide a firm block for the tissue to float on paraffin
this step of tissue preparation cuts the sample into very thin slices for microscopy sectioning
this is the usual type of staining used for tissue samples hematotoxylin and eosin (H&E)
this type of stain makes what you don't know a different color special stain
