Blockade - is an effort to cut off food, supplies, war material or communications from a particular area by force, either in part or totally
Bounty - an amount of money or other reward offered by an organization for the capture of a person or thing
Civilian - a person who is not a member of his or her country's armed forces or other militia.
Draft - a form of compulsory military service that provides the armed forces with enough young men to fill the ranks in the case of a national emergency.
Emancipate - is a broad term used to describe various efforts to obtain political rights or equality, often for a specifically disenfranchised group.
Habeas corpus - a writ, or legal action, through which a prisoner can be released from unlawful detention, that is, detention lacking sufficient cause or evidence.
Inflation - a rise in the general level of prices of goods and services in an economy over a period of time.
Martial law - the imposition of military rule by military authorities over designated regions on an emergency basis
Minie ball - a type of muzzle-loading spin-stabilizing rifle bullet named after its co-developer
Profiteer - one who makes what is considered an unreasonable profit especially on the sale of essential goods during times of emergency
Siege - a military blockade of a city or fortress with the intent of conquering by attrition or assault.
Total war - a war in which a belligerent engages in the complete mobilization of fully available resources and population.
