Bay of Pigs invasion An attempt by the US to overthrow Castro. It was a huge embarrassment for the US.
Cuban Missile Crisis when the Soviet Union attempted to build nuclean weapons in Cuba. It lead to a stand off between the US and the Soviet Union. In the end the Soviet Union removed everything from Cuba.
Alliance for Progress a program created by President Kennedy that tried to make reforms to improve the lives of people living in Latin America.
Peace Corps a program created by President Kennedy where American volunteers worked in deveoloping countries as teachers, engineers, and technical advisers.
Organization of American States a group where the US helped to promote econiomic progress in Latin American through transportation and industry.
National Aeronautics and Space Administrations (NASA) the US space program.
Vietcong Guerilla fighters who supported the communists.
Guerrillas fighters who made hit and run attacks on the enemy
