| Who was Rosa Parks? | 1955 she refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus to a white person. She was "The First Lady of Civil Rights" and an active member in the NAACP |
| What is the Eisenhower Doctrine? | Similar to the Truman Doctrine in that they both seek to defend countries threatened by communism, HOWEVER< Eisenhower was particularly concerned with the Middle East (because of our growing dependency on oil). |
| What was the the significance of the "military-industrial complex"? | Ike warned against he growth of the MIC. It is described as an all-too friendly relationship that may develop between defense contractors and government forces. "War for Profit" can be dangerous. |

| What was the Bay of Pigs? | Kennedy's biggest disaster. The US organized Cuban exiles to lead an attack to overthrow Castro. They arrived at the Bay of Pigs and it was a complete disaster and unsuccessful. |
