Revolution - a radical and pervasive change in society and the social structure, especially one made suddenly and often accompanied by violence.
Seneca Falls - an early and influential women's rights convention held in Seneca Falls, New York, July 19–20, 1848.
Sexism - attitudes or behavior based on traditional stereotypes of sexual roles.
Lucretia Mott - was an American Quaker, abolitionist, women's rights activist, and a social reformer.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton - was an American social activist, abolitionist, and leading figure of the early woman's movement.
"Declaratio of sentimants" - a document signed in 1848 by 68 women and 32 men, 100 out of some 300 attendees at the first women's rights convention, in Seneca Falls, New York
Suffragists - an advocate of the grant or extension of political suffrage, especially to women.
19th amendment - guarantees all American women the right to vote.
ERA - said that women and men have equal rights under the law, is still not part of the U.S. Constitution.
NOW - the largest feminist organization in the United States. It was founded in 1966 and has a membership of 500,000 contributing members.
Pink collar - a pink-collar worker performs work said to be stereotypical women's work and are typically in the service industry.
Feminist - person whose beliefs and behavior are based on feminism.
Gender norming - the practice of judging female military applicants or recruits, or female employees or job applicants in the civilian workforce, by less stringent standards than their male counterparts.
Roe vs. Wade - a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion.
