What was the Whiskey Rebellion? a revolt by farmers in 1794 against excise tax on whiskey
Why did farmers use whiskey? To find a cheaper alternative to shipping their grain across the mountains.
Who was afraid that political parties would split apart the new nation? George Washington
What was Hamilton's view of human nature? most people are basically selfish and out for themselves
What was Jefferson's view of human nature? all informed citizens can make good choices for the country.
What was Hamilton's opinion of who should lead the country? the educated, wealthy, and public-spirited men
What was Jefferson's opinion of who should lead the country? those who will be the least powerful
How strong did Hamilton think the national government should be? a very strong government to unite the states with the people
How strong did Jefferson think the national government should be? a very weak government so that people can enjoy their liberty without interference of the government
What did Hamilton think the ideal economy was? one that used federal power to promote business, manufacturing, and trade
What did Jefferson think the ideal economy was? one that was based on farmers working the land
What did Hamilton think of a national bank? it was constitutional because the government needs a place to collect taxes and to keep those funds safe.
What did Jefferson think of a national bank? it was unconstitutional because it against farmers, which fuel the economy
Did Hamilton think the US should ally itself with Great Britain or France? Britain becuase they are strong and orderly and depended on for trade.

After the election of 1800, why was an Ammendment added? To help prevent another tie between candidates.
