Why did the 'American War Of Independence' start? The English settlers had established 13 colonies in North America. There was also lots of tax on goods sold in America.
From what years did the 'Seven Year War Take Place' ? 1756-1763
Why was there more taxation on goods? The English wanted more money and also they needed money to keep Armies in America.
What was the Boston Massacre? British had high taxes on goods. The American's did not like this so when an angry crowd stoned British Troops, the soldiers opened fire and killed five people.
What was the Boston Tea party? The British allowed East India to sell tea directly to America with no tax. In December 1773, Americans dressed as Indians dumped over 342 crates of tea into Boston Harbour.
What did Paul Revere do? In April 1775, he rode his horse through the night saying' To arms! The British are coming!'to warn them that The British Army was coming.
Who was George Washington? He was commander in chief for the American Army.
What did George Washington do? He was the main reason for America getting out of British rule. He lead the American Army.
What date did the 'Declaration of Independence' pass on? Who was it passed by? It was passed on 4 July 1776 by the Continental Congress.
What was the 'Declaration of rights' marked as? It was marked as the 'Final Break' with Britain.
In 1776, What did Washington order? He ordered an invasion of Britain controlled Canada but this plan failed. Then he was defeated in New York and Failed to hold the city.
Where did Washington attack the British Army on the night of Christmas in 1776? In Trenton when he caught the British still Celebrating.
Who joined America's side of the war to help them around 1777? France,Holland and Spain. They also provided Ships and money for them.
When and where did the British Surrender? In 1783,, in the Treaty of Versailles, the british government finally recognised the independence of the United States of America.
What was the results of the American War of Independence? The United Stated of American was founded. The victory of the Americans inspired the French Revolution. In Ireland a volunteer movement grew up which won greater independence for the Irish Parliament.
