1540 Francisco Vasquez do Coronado leads Mexico's invasion of the onrth with an expeditionary force of 300 conquistadors and more than 100,000 Idian "allies". They did not find the promised metropolis but a small village.
1552 Bartolome de Las Casas, the first priest ordained in the Western Hemisphere publishes Brief Relations of the Destruction of of the Indies, which provides many gruesom examples of the colonists' treatment of the Indians
1607 Jamestown founded in Virginia
1608 Quebec founded in Canada.
1619 First African slaves brought to US
1620 Pilgrims land @ Plymouth, Mass
1769 Father Junipero Serra,establishes Mission San Diego de Alcala.
