Middle Colonies test

List all of the Middle Colonies. Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, and New Jersey.
What are the Middle Colonies known as and why? They are known as the Breadbasket Colonies Because they grow a lot of wheat.
Who did New York first belong to and why don't we speak that language the most in New York? New York first belonged to the Netherlands, or Holland. The English decided to take over it and came to New York with ships. The townspeople of New York begged the governor, Peter Stuyvesant, to give it up without a fight.
What is the difference between a proprietor and a delegate, name an example of each. A delegate is a person elected by others into a government or council, while a proprietor was the ruler of a colony. One delegate is none other than our own Nicole Clarke, and one proprietor is the Duke of York.
What does refuge mean? A place of safety.
True or False, William Penn wanted to be nice to Indians. True.
In relation to the Puritans, how strict were the Quakers about religion? Not very strict, allowed religious freedom.
How long did the trip from Boston to New York City take back then? 2-14 days.
