Finding the topic of the reading passage

QuestionAnswer
What is your first task when you begin reading a passage? To answer the question "What is the topic of the passage?"
How can you best find out the topic of the passage? by quickly skimming the passage for the general idea by reading only the first sentence of each paragraph
Where can you find the main topic of each paragraph? in the first sentence
In addition to the main topic, what else does the first sentence of the paragraph tell you? a summary of the content of the paragraph
