What is a bank holiday? It is when a bank closes to prevent a "run on the bank".
What does "New Nationalism" support? The idea that the government should work with business (not against it).
What was the 1st thing FDR did as President? He closed all of the banks to establish which ones were healthy enough to re-open. He wanted to restore people's confidence in the banks.
How did FDR win popularity as governor of NYC? He helped people economically (helped get them back on their feet).
What does the Securities and Exchange Commission do? It regulates the stock market
What did the National Industrial Recovery Act set up? codes of fair competition
What was the Townsend plan? A plan to free up jobs for the unemployed
What Supreme Court Case struck down the NIRA? Schecter v. United States
Framers of the Social Security Act saw it primarily as an... Insurance Bill :)
Why was FDR's Court Packing Plan a mistake? It interfered with the Constitution'ns Separation of Powers.
