Recall Allowed voters to remove elected officals in the middle of their term.
Graduated Income Tax Taxes people from different income levels to different amounts.
Suffragists People who campaigned for women's right to vote.
Quota Restriction on the number of immigrants allowed to enter the enter the U.S from other countries.
Spoils System The awarding of government jobs or granting them favors by government officals to political supporters.
Initative Rights of citizens to place a measure or issue before the voters or legislative for approval.
Populism Political movement founded in the 1890s representing mainly farmers, favoring free coinage of silver and government control of railroads and other large industries.
Primary Election Preliminary election in which voters of each party nominate canidates for office and party officers.
Social Darwinism Based on Charles Darwin's theories on evolution and natural election states that humans have developed through competition and natural selection with only the strongest surviving.

Referndum The practice of letting voters accept or measures proposed by the legislature.
