What is the Bill Of Rights? It is the first ten amendments in the U.S. Constitution.
Lily is pulled over and searched by a police officer because he didn't like the color of her car. Were any of her rights violated? Yes, her right against unreasonable search and seizures, fourth amendment, was violated.
Who does the Bill Of Rights protect? It protects all people on United States soil, even if they are here illegally.
What is an amendment? An amendment is an addition to the U.S. Constitution.
Can a judge send a person to jail for life for stealing a candy bar? No, it violates the eighth amendment, no cruel and unusual punishment.
Can a public school pay a teacher to teach a religion? No, they can not, it violates the first amendment, freedom of religion.
Can a police officer arrest a person because they don't like their bumper sticker? No, they cannot because it violates the first amendment, freedom of speach/expression.
A newspaper company publishes an article saying that the mayor is cheating on his wife. The mayor shuts down the newspaper. Is he violating any rights? Yes, he is violating their right tho the freedom of the press, first amendment.
