QuestionAnswer
What is the Bill of Rights? It is the first 10 Amendments to the United States Constitution.
Who does the Bill of Rights protect? It protects ALL people in the U.S. It does not matter if they are in the U.S. illegally or legally; short term or long.
What is the purpose of the Bill of Rights? To give all people in the U.S. a basic set of rights and freedoms.
What is an amendment? An addition or change to the U.S. Constitution.
What does the 1st Amendment include? The Freedom of Speech, Religion,Press,Assembly,Petition the Government(establishment clause: establish a new government if the people don't like the current one. Free Exercise Clause: congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise of religion.)
What does the 2nd Amendment include? The right to bear arms.
What does the 3rd Amendment include? The government CANNOT force you to shelter or house soldiers without your consent, no matter what.
What does the 4th Amendment include? The right against unreasonable search of person or property.
What does the 5th Amendment include? The government CANNOT try a person more than once for one crime, make a person testify against themself, take a persons life, liberty, property without good reasons, and take a persons property unless person is well paid for property.
What does the 6th Amendment include? The right to a speedy and public trial, a jury trial, be told of crime, face prosecutor,call witnesses, have an attorney.
What does the 8th Amendment include? The right to a fair fine, and no cruel and unusual punishment.
