What was the Albany Plan? *this was a plan that Benjamin Franklin developed; it said that the 7 colonies should join together to fight the French (this plan was suggested in Albany, New York) *the colonies rejected this plan because they did not want to fight as one country yet
What was the Treaty of Paris? *this document was signed when the French and Indian War was over *it was signed in Paris, France
What was the effect of the Treaty of Paris (what did it do)? *France lost nearly all of its land in North America *Britain won most of Canada, all French lands east of the Mississippi River and Spanish Florida
After the French and Indian War was over Britain's King GeorgeIII wanted the fighting between the Native Americans and the colonists to end what did he announce? Proclamation of 1763
What did the Proclamation of 1763 state? *all the land west of the Appalachian Mountains belongs to the Native Americans to live on *the colonists can not move west of the Appalachian Mountains
Parliament decided to pass new taxes onto the colonists--Why? Parliament said Britain needed to raise money to pay off the war debts of the French and Indian War (this made the colonists even angrier)
