Tyrant A ruler with absolute power.
Provisions 1. supplies or materials needed. 2. something that must be followedin an agreement.
Impose To force someone to obey them.
Boycott To refuse to buy;usually a form of protest.
Revenue An income to a governments collect to cover expenses.
Militia A group of armed citizans {civilians} who are not part of the regular army.
Tariff A tax on imported goods.
Propaganda Ideas or opinions spred around to try to influence others thoughts and/or actions.
Revolt Actions taken against a government or a authority. {to rebel}
Chronology An arrangement of events in order of how they occured.
Import To bring items from another country into your own country.
Export To send products to anouther country, usually to sell.
Repeal To cancel a law.
Proclamation An official announcement.
Sugar Act This act placed a tax on molasses and products shipped to the colonies.
Townshend Act This act put a tax on glass, paper, paint, and tea.
Navigation Act These laws were passed to regulate trade between Britian and its colonies.
Quartering Act This act required colonists to house and feed British soilders.
Intolerable Act This act was created to punish Massachushettsfor the Boston Tea Party.
Boston Massacre This event was used as a propaganda against the British.
Tea Act This act let the East India Company bypass merchants and sell tea derectly to the colonists.
Stamp Act This act required all legal and commercial documents to have an official stamp to showthat a tax had been paid.
Proclamation of 1763 This law prevented colonists from settling west of the Appalachian Mountians.
