| Shays rebellion | A farmers rebellion started due to taxes and large debts. |

| Federalists | The people who supported the constitution where called federalists |
| Antifederalists | People who opposed the constitution |
| The federalists papers | Federalists wrote papers to answer antifederalists attacks, this is the best known of the papers |
| George Mason | He was a antifederalist who believed that a bill of rights needed to be added to the constitution, legislative branch to have less power |
| Bill of Rights | in 1791 10 amendments were created these were called the bill of rights |
