Landforms for Matching

An area of land completely surrounded by water? ISLAND
A large body of water surrounded by land? LAKE
A large stream of water that flows into a lake or ocean or other body of water? RIVER
A triagular deposit of sand and soil that collects at the mouth of some rivers? DELTA
The part of the river where its waters flow into another body of water? MOUTH

What is part of an ocean extending into land and usually larger than a bay? GULF
A land form with high elevation and has a pointed or rounded top higher than a hill? MOUNTAIN
An opening in the earth's surface through which steam, lava, and ashes are forced out? VOLCANO
A narrow waterway connecting two large bodies of water? STRAIT
What is a stream or river that flows into a larger stream or river? TRIBUTARY
What is a DESERT? A dry barren region that may be sandy and without trees
