Stamp Act of 1765 Act reqiured colonists to pay for an offical; stamp on any paper documents such as legal document, newspaper, or even playing cards -first time colonists taxed directly and boycotted the act and was repeled
Repeal pressur grew against parliment to repal the stamp act they soon did -parliment got angry for the colonists were cyhallenging them -the result of the repeal was the Delclatory Act saying Parliment had the power to tax the colonies however they wanted
Townshend Act 1767 taxed tea glass paint paper and lead -Allowed tax collectors to seach for smuggled goods -Liberty Ship was searched for smuggling awhich angered the Sons of liberty who attacked the houses of customs officals
Bosotn Massacre 1770 Colonist saw British soilders as a threat -The soilders weren't welcome -both sides started harrasing the others - british fired into the crowd killing 5 colonist -
Boston Tea Party 1773 Parliment passed the Tea Act of 1773 which allowed the British East India Trading Company to sell tea directly to colonists -Three ships landed in Boston Harbor full of tea on ecember 16,1773 -coloinsts wentahnd dumpeed 340 chests of tea into the harbor
Sons of Libety a group of patriot rebels that terriozed tax collectors and protested against British rules and laws
Intloerable Acts of 1774 -Parliment in response to the Boston Tea Party passed the Corcive acts which the colonists calle the Intolerable acts -Boston Harbor was closed, Massachuttes charter was canceled, and General Thomas Gage became Massachuttes govenor
First Continetal Congress 1774 a gathering of Delagtes from around the coloni8es to Philadelphia -debated about enfgland - Came to a compromise to halt all trade with Britan and begin to train colonial milita for war
Battle of Lexingotn and Concord 1775 -British heard of a weapons cash in Concord -700 british soliders marched to lexingotn on april 18 were 70 milita soilders waited for them - Battle ended quickly British killed man miltia and destroyed the weapions cash -ambushed on the way back to Bos

Battle of Trenton 1776 Washington after being pushed back into Pennsylvania by the British went on the offensive. - Crossed the Delaware river on Christmas night 1776 and attacked the partying hessians and surprised them winning taking over 900 prisoners
Battle of Saratoga 1777 Genral Burgone (British went with his forces to take down the colonial forces - american General Hartio Gates crushed the british and this led to the spanish and french helping the Americans
Battle of Yorktown 1781 General Washingotn cornered cornwalis at yorktown making him surrender it was the last major battle of the Revlotionary war
Treaty of Paris 1783 two years to come to a peace agreement -spain got florid and The us got its land and British got spain
