| Quartering Act | A British cost saving method that required colonists to "quarter", or house British troops and provide supplies. |

| Sugar Act | Placed a tax on sugar, molasses, and other products shipped into the colonies. It also enforced harsh punishment to smugglers. |
| Stamp Act | Required legal and commercial documents to carry a stamp showing a tax had been paid.(Diplomas, Contracts, Wills,etc.) |
| Patrick Henry | A member of the Virginia house of Burgesses that called for a resistance to the Stamp Act. |

| Boston Massacre | On March 5,1770, tension broke into British anger. They massacred a lot of people. Only Crispus Attucks and four other laborers were killed. The British who fired the shots were arrested for murder. |

| Committees of Correspondence | Created by Samuel Adams, the committees of correspondence sent letters from committee to committee to keep each other updated on colonial affairs. |
