Dwight D. Eisenhower The Allied Supreme Commander who sent the largest military force in history into France to battle Germany during the Invasion of France at Normandy.
General Douglas MacArthur defeated the Japanese in the Philippine Islands in October of 1944
Benito Mussolini Was a dictator in Italy. In 1945 Benito Mussolini was captured and shot by a group of Italians.
Franklin Roosevelt In 1940 Franklin Roosevelt was elected President for the third time.
Franklin Roosevelt In 1944 President Roosevelt won his fourth term in office. The pressures of the war, however, caused Roosevelt to fall ill. He went on vacation to Warm Springs, Georgia, where on April 12, 1945, he died suddenly
Harry S Truman had been Vice President under Roosevelt. He became president after Roosevelts death.
